Approximately 250 volunteers came together to help construct the new Land
of Amazement 2.0 playground at Steve Michaud Park on September 16 and
17, 2016. In total, the volunteers spent approximately 1,600 hours putting together
the play structure. There were even about a dozen people working at the event
that volunteered at the first Land of Amazement construction project in 1992!
The contractor and Park Maintenance staff will continue to put the finishing
touches on the playground in the coming weeks.
Thank you to all of the generous volunteers, sponsors, and Park Maintenance
staff that helped to make the build happen, including in-kind donors Kwik Trip,
Hy-Vee, Cub Foods, Subway, Panera, Fastenal, and Rent-N-Save.
